Rabbi Natti and Rebbetzin Deb joined Kehillat Masada at the beginning of 2022.
They work together serving the community with energy, warmth, enthusiasm and compassion.
Along with their six wonderful children, Yedidya, Hillel, Shiloh, Achiya, Odeya and Nava, they feel incredibly blessed to be part of this special community.
During his time in Australia and New Zealand, Rabbi Natti has worked closely with the Sydney Beit Din and serves on the Board of the Rabbinical Association of Australasia. Rabbi Natti loves exploring the outdoors, especially diving, fishing and getting out on the water.
Deb has studied Law, alongside Arts in New Zealand, and has a background working in education, mental health and not-for-profit management.
Both Rabbi Natti and Rebbetzin Deb enjoy connecting with people and are passionate about making Judaism as inclusive as possible within the bounds of Halacha.
The couple had the opportunity to work on a tour with the The late Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks z”t”l a year before his passing and are hugely influenced by his teachings.
Rabbi Krebs was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he completed his schooling, matriculating at King David Linksfield. In 1997 he and his entire family moved to Sydney where he studied a BCom-Finance and Information Systems at the University of New South Wales.
It was during this time that he decided to explore his Jewish roots and spent time at Yeshiva in the old city of Jerusalem. Upon completing his degree Rabbi Krebs made Aliya where he has served in the Israeli defence force.
He initially studied in the famed Yeshivat Har Etzion under the tutelage of Rabbi Aaron Lichtenstein. He subsequently began studying for his semicha under Rabbi Shlomo Riskin and Rabbi Chaim Brovender at Yeshivat Hamivtar, Efrat.
In 2005 after finishing his semicha Rabbi Krebs took up a position at Kehillat Masada as the youth Rabbi.
In 2007 Rabbi Krebs was appointed as the full-time Rabbi of Kehillat Masada, a community that he served with great distinction for 16 years.
Rabbi Krebs has a passion for Jewish Education and learning, which led him to take up a position as College Rabbi of Moriah College in 2021.
In honour of his dedication and 16-year tenure at Kehillat Masada, the title ‘Rabbi Emeritus’ was bestowed on Rabbi Krebs by the Board of Management.
Rabbi Krebs continues to be a valued member of the Kehillah.
He is married to Tamar and they have four children Yehuda, Hadassah, Esther and Benaiah.
Micha was born in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, a coastal city in South Africa. He attended Carmel College and began his undergraduate degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and finished at the University of KwaZulu Natal.
Micha then spent a year at Yeshivat Hakotel in the Old City of Jerusalem before returning to Johannesburg where he completed an MBA at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Micha and his wife Tracy arrived in Sydney in 2017 where Micha took up his position of Chazzan at Kehillat Masada, making him a third generation Chazzan.
